Yesterday wrapped up our first week back to school. I still can't believe that the new year is already here! I LOVE our classroom space so I wanted to share some pictures with you highlighting the place where the magic happens....room 505! Last year, I painted the room and gave it a big facelift which you can check out here. This year, I only made a few minor changes because the space seemed to work so well for us last year. It is interesting to look back at my room setups over the years and see how I have grown as a teacher when establishing a space for my students. I have learned that calming, inviting, organized spaces that are centered around students and created 110% with them in mind are truly the spaces that my students have seemed to enjoy the most. I do my best to leave things off of the walls, I don't laminate decorations anymore(the glare can be distracting and make the items hard to see), I don't spend a lot of time organizing our classroom library and I ...

Our “Champtastic” Week with GoNoodle
If you follow me on IG or Facebook then you know that my teaching world has been all things GoNoodle for the last several weeks. #sorrynotsorry GoNoodle has changed my classroom for the better, and I just can't stop bragging about this awesome group! I have been desperately patiently waiting to share with you about all of the neat GoNoodle inspired opportunities that have happened in our classroom the last week. Since movement, being active and engaged learners, and bringing in more "student choice" chances are all a huge focus in my classroom this year; I wanted to use the prize money to help purchase items for the ...
Teacher Week- Where I Live
Today's Blog Hoppin' Teacher Week feature highlights where we live! Of course I don't mean our house! I mean our "other" house! Let's be real-we spend enough time at school that it is practically our second home, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't have a big reveal to share with you today. My classroom is in a growing phase at the moment. I say "growing" because I am in the process of making a lot of changes to our classroom in regards to design. I am slowly pulling down items that are too colorful and loud. I am keeping my laminating of new resources to a minimum because the glare can be distracting to students and can actually prevent them from reading the document. I do love color, but I am trying to stay with items that are gender neutral so that ALL students feel comfortable in the classroom. There are some other changes going on as well. I was blessed enough to be able to leave behind my desks when I moved to my portable ...
